The Château de Saint-Maur, also known as Château d'Argent, is a historic manor located in Argcent-sur-Sauldre, in the Cher department of Centre-Val de Loire. This exquisite 18th-century manor was constructed by Nicolas Dupré de Saint-Maur, Intendant of the Generality of Bourges, under the supervision of Victor Louis, the main architect for the Berry chateaus. Château de Saint-Maur is a fine example of the classical architecture of the era, and today it houses the Museum of Old Trades of Argcent-sur-Sauldre. Landscape architect Duhamel du Monceau designed the surrounding park and gardens according to the classical style to reflect the era's trends.
