The Green Tree Tavern, a former Fishtown legend, landed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. In 2012, the spot where the Green Tree Tavern once spun its yarns, now hollers with the grisly giggles of clashing fists instead. The same floorboards that absorbed the tears (and perhaps more) of spilled whiskey, now creak beneath the weight of these modern-day warriors.
