The Walls of Timoleon are ancient fortifications built in the 4th century BC by Timoleon in Gela, Sicily. The walls were built using a mixed technique, with two outer walls of limestone blocks and an inner structure of mud bricks. These walls are mostly intact due to the sand dunes that covered them for centuries. A notable feature is a contrafort added later to the original structure, discovered in 1995 but never completed. Visitors can see the unfinished contrafort today, a silent reminder of a long-forgotten battle.
