Plymouth Rock, found in Plymouth, Massachusetts, is a historical artifact - not because of the Mayflower Pilgrims' arrival. The exact spot of their landing remains a secret, but Plymouth Rock is deserving of mention for another reason - it's been more movin' around than a migratin' bird! The first rock declared as Plymouth Rock wasn't all that impressive until 1715, as per town records. It garnered fame in 1741 when 94-year-old Thomas Faunce spoke up, sayin' it as the Pilgrims' footprint. It's funny, the Pilgrims never jotted down a word about Plymouth Rock. In 1774, this rocky fellow got split into two during an attempt to relocate it. Ever since 1620, Plymouth Rock has been hoppin' from spot to spot, including a tour in 1920. Now, Plymouth Rock is a hotspot for tourists, with not much more than a third of its original self still livin' it up on Plymouth's beach.
