Perched upon the emerald heights of Tacoronte, this Spanish church, the Tacoronte Church, gleams like a precious gem amidst the lush greenery. Consumed by time but never forgotten, it replaced a small ermita, an ancient chapel from a time long past. As the grandest religious monument of Tacoronte, Tenerife, it proudly falls under the watchful eye of its bell tower, or the campanario. Declared a monument in 2016, it represents the epitome of cultural wealth for the Tacoronte Municipality. Inside its hallowed halls lies a breathtaking collection of sacred art. Among these masterpieces is a mesmerizing statue of Santa Catalina Mártir de Alejandría, our patron saint, a divine creation by José Miguel Luján Pérez. The church's treasury also boasts a depiction of the Virgin of Guadalupe, considered the finest Guadalupan representation in all of Canarias.
