The conflict-ridden history of Old Ronda's co-existing cities

Acinipo, commonly known as Old Ronda, is an intriguing archaeological site in the Spanish province of Malaga. Founded over 2,000 years ago, Acinipo and Arunda (the original settlement of Ronda) are known to have co-existed for centuries. While some historians believe that Acinipo was founded for retired Roman soldiers after the battle of Munda (45 BC), others argue that this is not a fact supported by all. Nevertheless, Acinipo is a testament to the grandeur of the Roman Empire, with its most remarkable relic being the Roman theater, which is still in use today.
