Deep in the heart of La Réunion, a dreamy monastery called home to the Rue Pente Nicole in the enchanting village of La Rivière-Saint-Louis. This beautiful structure, embraced by a sea of lavender, was built in the early 20th century, with its tower finally reaching towards the sky in 1937. Two monuments to the fallen stand proudly on the Place de l'Église, one commemorating the Great War and another honoring those who perished in the Second World War and subsequent battles. As of August 14, 2000, this church cast in the gentle hues of lavender was officially declared a Monument historique. The church, framed by the Purple Fields on the Place de l'Église, is a living dream, a gentle nod to the region's past lavender plantations.
