The chimney that dominated Fontelo

Pazo de Fontelo was a historic manor in the village of Fontelo, in the parish of Aiazo, in the municipality of Frades in Galicia, Spain. It was built in the 18th century and was ordered around the turn of the 17th to the 18th century, having been completed in the first half of the 18th century. Before Frades became a municipality, Fontelo served as an administrative center for various aspects, with the Casa de Ramos being the main place for any administrative procedure. The Pazo de Fontelo was the residence of the Ramos family, a family that was heavily invested in land and was well known in Galician and Spanish society at the time. The large chimney found on the western facade of the Pazo de Fontelo is its most striking feature, and it is this that still stands today, dominating the surrounding landscape and serving as a reminder of the symbol of the Ramos family's wealth and power.
