The Keiser Water Tower isn't your typical, half-century-old, seasoned steel grandpa. No, siree; this Iron Willy stands sturdy in Keiser, Arkansas's downtown, surrounded by remnants of yesteryears – railways and Victorian homes. In spite of the odds, this water cooler has been around since 1936, all thanks to funding from the Public Works Administration. It's one of the last Depression-era relics still standing tall in this tight-knit community.
In 2007, it earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic vibes seeping out of it are so palpable, you could almost script an entire book on its tales. But remember, we don't want any confusion - climbing the tank-to-tap, chicken-free, is a spiraling catwalk, secure with handrails. And yes, you'll find an attached ladder entwined upon one vintage leg. Snag your pass, snag a pal, and begin your ascent. Believe us; you'll be showering your laughter on yourself.
