In the chillier climates of Oregon City, Oregon, US, in September 2013, the POMC Memorial mushroomed – a graveyard gathering place. Dedicated to the memory of child murder victims, it was the eighth such memorial in the United States and the first in the Pacific Northwest. It encompasses the Oregon/Washington Memorial Wall, a curved glow-in-the-dark wall, embracing benches and freestanding basalt columns. The memorial also features a spiral pathway of stone, a waterfall tumbling over more stonework.
