The Iron Icon: Deck's Classic Sculpt, The Hillclimber, Stands Tall on

A fella, halted dead in a mid-spill scene, on the museum's Founder's Terrace, sparks a question - does he represent fear or freedom on that 'widow-maker' hill?

Cast by the rough hands of Jeff Decker, The Hillclimber, a 5,000-pound, a touch past 16 feet high, bronze piece, has been given a spot on the lawn of the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This masterpiece is a present from the ‘ol Davidson gang, specifically Willie G. Davidson, senior vp and main designer at Harley-D, and a grandkid to one of the big H's founders, William A. Davidson. The helmet-less chap up there, balancing dangerously on his ride, intentionally sparks thoughts of 'widow-maker' hills, hinting at the roll of the dice even with the safest of protective gear.
