To observe the decay of uranium, it was necessary to descend deep underground, where cosmic rays do not penetrate. Therefore, in 1940, Soviet physicists used the service facilities of the newly built station 'Dynamo' for their experiments.
However, this is not the only case. For example, several metro tunnels were turned into mushroom farms in the 1970s to study the possibilities of growing mushrooms in extreme conditions. According to another version, mushrooms were needed for the production of medicines. In the 1990s, experiments ceased, the equipment was removed, and the tunnels were preserved.
