Historic Älvsjö Gård was a säteri, becoming a centre for nearby torps and utgårdar during the ownership of friherre Axel Lagerbielke in 1775. The current structure of Älvsjö Gård, much of which dates to the late 16th century, includes luxury fireplaces and a unique Jugend villa. The etymology of Älvsjö is unclear, but it is possibly derived from the Old Swedish name Ælve.
