Outside the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park, you will find Odyssey III, an abstract sculpture by Tony Rosenthal created in 1973. The painted aluminum sculpture was purchased by the San Diego Museum of Art in 1974 with matching funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Since February 11, 2016, the sculpture has been included in 'Art of the Open Air', an exhibition of public art owned by the San Diego Museum of Art that is open to the public without an admission charge.
The San Diego Union-Tribune described the work as a "riotous orangey-red-painted assembly of aluminum discs".
