Walsh's Quirky Brick Wonders on Milwaukee's Northwest Side

Hop on over to Milwaukee's northwestern neck of the woods and check out the whimsical brick works of American artists, Susan Walsh. Nicknamed 'Buildings 1992', this architectural oddity is a chat-starter, for sure.

It's none other than Susan Walsh, the Stateside artist, who's got Milwaukee dropping jaws with her zany brick creations. Constructed for the local Milwaukee Fire Department station, make your way to the intersection of 103 Street and Fond du Lac Avenue to find these squares. The four towering, rectangular buildings, each with a couple of ground-level doors, leave people scratching their heads in awe. Two triangular-roofed gems and a single arch-roofed stunner make up the brood, and they rest atop a concrete square pedestal, adding to the work's unique character. So if you're cruising around in Milwaukee, don't pass up a visit to these quirky, artistic brick structures.
