Malaya Konyushennaya St., 1-3, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 191186
The residential building of the Evangelical Swedish Church of St. Catherine is located in the city of Saint Petersburg, on Malaya Konyushennaya Street. The building with a concert hall was constructed between 1823 and 1862, designed by the architect Karl Karlovich Anderson.

From 1904 to 1905, the building was rebuilt by architect Friedrich Johannovich Lidval, commissioned and funded by the church community of the Evangelical Church of St. Catherine. The church was located nearby, and the building was intended as housing for church employees, with part of it rented out. The Catherine Hall was also constructed here, where the Scandinavian community gathered.
At the beginning of the 20th century, this hall played a significant role in the cultural life of the city. Various exhibitions, displays of the art association "World of Art," concerts, public lectures, and literary evenings were held there. Vladimir Mayakovsky read his poems in the Catherine Hall, and Fyodor Chaliapin and Anastasia Vyaltseva sang there.
The building was intended for church employees, but part of the housing was also rented out.
After the revolution, the large building served both as residential space and as premises for various institutions. Even during the war, in August 1944, by decision of the Leningrad City Labor Reserves Administration, a Labor Reserves House of Culture was opened in the wing. In 1959, it became the House of Culture for Vocational Education Students. In 1993, it was already the Youth Palace of Culture. Finally, since 2004, it has housed the State Budgetary Educational Institution of Additional Education for Children, the Palace of Student Youth of Saint Petersburg.
