Plonked right in the National Gallery’s Sculpture Garden, this 1999 creation by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen stands tall. Timmy, as this fellow is known, is a blend of humor, creativity, and Mad Hatter style – everything that makes him a crowd-pleaser for art lovers and tourists alike. While he might not be everybody's cup of tea with the art snobs,Timmy has certainly found his sweet spot within both the world of tourism and art. You'll find replicas of him (or his kin) at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, CityCenter, Paradise, and at the Norton Museum of Art's Scale X. This friendly, oversized rubber eraser leaves an imprint wherever he goes, and his presence might just leave something of a mark on you, too!
