There is a common belief that the building got the nickname "German House" because it was built by German prisoners of war. In fact, this is not true. The house was built for foreign specialists of the Frunze factory and the watch factory, mostly Germans. Hence the nickname.

It is worth taking a closer look at the appearance of the building – it is built in the constructivist style, and there are few such buildings in Penza.
