The 'Cuba di Milazzo' is a Bizantine structure located in Milazzo, Sicily, near a commercial park in contrada Masseria. Although it was restored during the expansion of the park, the exact date is not specified. The 'Cuba di Milazzo' is a unique cubic structure, similar in shape and dimensions to the 'cuba' in Malvagna, another Bizantine structure in Sicily. However, unlike any other buildings in the area, the 'Cuba di Milazzo' was restored in 2022, and its massive cubical structure resembles that of the 'cuba' in Malvagna.
Inside, the building has one existing room, accessed through a six-sided recessed door on the southern wall. The building was raised to cover the cupola with a flat, overarching cover, intended to convert the church into a low tower. A discontinuity in the western wall may be the result of part of the cupola's collapse, which has been since reintegrated. The restoration of the 'Cuba di Milazzo' has given a glimpse into the past, but much of the building's original decoration has been lost over the centuries due to numerous renovations and adaptations.
It is probable that the 'cuba' in Milazzo, like the 'cuba' in Malvagna, was adorned with absidi, but this cannot be confirmed as the current state of the structure does not allow for it. Although the story states that the 'Cuba di Milazzo' is unlike any other buildings in the area, it is important to note that the Massive Cubical structure of the 'cuba' in Milazzo resembles that of the 'cuba' in Malvagna.
