The tower at Mas Canyet

The tower at Mas Canyet is a relic of a bygone era, built as a guard post in the 16th century. When the rest of the masia was constructed in the 18th century, the tower lost its defensive purpose. Today, it is one of the few surviving examples of medieval architecture in the area. The tower is rectangular in shape, measuring 5.57x4.90m, and stands 7m tall, divided into three floors. The lower floor houses a bread oven, dating back to the 16th century. The second floor communicates with the masia via a door, likely the potern, and has remnants of a machicolation at the top. The second floor connects to the upper floor through a trapdoor. On the exterior, there are three windows and some barred loopholes, framed with granite. The roof is covered with a two-sloped roof.
