Universitetskaya Embankment, 13, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 199034

The building was constructed between 1756 and 1759 under the direction of architect Borchard. The two-story front building facing the embankment is adjoined by a one-story wing extending deep into the plot, forming a shape resembling the letter T in plan. The stucco work, the bas-relief in the pediment, and the high-relief details of the sandricks were executed by sculptor Johann Just. In 1843, restoration of the Cadet Corps Manege building began under the supervision of architect Kokorev. This included partial re-planning of the building, replacement of floors, repair of ceilings, replacement of ceilings with the elimination of pendentives, construction of a stone staircase, and the creation of a doorway on the main facade. Untermark stoves were installed in the openings of the western and eastern walls. A new plinth made of Putilov slabs was laid under the building, pointed arches were constructed, stucco decorations and bas-reliefs were restored; an owl is located in the semicircular pediment to the right of the head of Medusa Gorgon.
