The hidden archaeological site on Tidemansholme: a medieval ruin in Halland

Tidemansholme, a half-island in Nissan, near Torup, Hylte commune, Halland, houses a medieval ruin. The borg ruin, measuring approximately 110x60 meters, has visible remains today that include a wall, a trench, and a fortress base. The wall is 57 meters wide. The fortress base, nearly square and 23x23 m, features an indentation from the western side. The wall is covered with five pines and trees around the fortress base. Northwest of the wall, findings suggest the presence of slag and remains of a house base. A large number of artifacts such as iron axes, stilts, and arrowheads have been discovered in the area. These are housed in the local folklore museum. Two coins from the 14th century have also been found, as well as a significant amount of flint, according to the landowner Erik Johansson.
