Hönsgärde is an ancient site located in Uppland, Sweden. Its name, which has changed over the centuries, is believed to originate from Hidkin, a man the site was named after. In the medieval period, this site was known as Hidhinskelf, but by the 16th century, it became Heenskiäla, Hennskiela, or Heenssgiärde. The main farm at Hönsgärde was owned by Uppsala University from the 17th century until the mid-1980s.
