Situated in the district of La Vallée in Saint-Pierre, the Cheminée La Vallée is a historic sugar factory on the island of La Réunion, in the French overseas department in the southwest Indian Ocean. The chimney itself is listed in the supplementary inventory of Monuments historiques since July 11, 2002.
The site includes the factory grounds and the Vallée factory, which comprises the sugar factory buildings, the former office with its bell, old workshops, the basins with their hydraulic installations, and the park of the domain. These components were inscribed by decree on January 16, 2023.
The industrial site reflects the economic history of La Réunion and its long-standing tradition of sugar cane culture. These structures remain as part of the local heritage in the southwest Indian Ocean.
