The Domaine de Montgaillard is an old colonial plantation located in the commune of Saint-Denis in the Montgaillard district of La Réunion, a French overseas department and region. The property is listed in the supplementary inventory of the Monuments Historiques since August 14, 2000. It was acquired by the Région Réunion in 2011.
The property was purchased in 1807 by the merchant and planter Jean-Charles Jullienne from Guy-Maurice de Fayard, an enseigne de vaisseau who arrived on the island before 1776. The estate stretched from the sea in the north to the Montagne in the south. It passed through several families, including the Jullienne, Soleille, de Heaulme, Dierx, and Renard families. In 1849, Gaspard-Victor de Heaulme received 11,560 gold francs as compensation for the abolition of slavery, a decree enacted by Commissioner Sarda-Garriga in 1848.
In 1882, the property was purchased by Marie Selec from her uncle Stanislas Morange. Her children inherited the property in 1937 and established it as a demeure de changement d'air, with Henri Morange modifying the buildings for this purpose. In 1971, Marthe, Suzanne, and Henri Morange donated the property to the Fondation «Les Orphelins Apprentis d'Auteuil», where it became an agricultural training center. After a period of private ownership by the Cadjee group, the Région Réunion acquired the domain in 2011, and it became Moca (Montgaillard Culture et Art).
