Water overflowed the dam and flowed under the Humpback Bridge. This is not a bridge over a branch, but over the natural original bed of the Slavyanka River. In the 1780s, the riverbed was changed by creating an artificial reservoir with an island, and the old bed was partially filled in, turning it into a narrow channel. The Humpback Bridge remained in its original form until the 1960s, and in the 1970s, the monument's deterioration was noted. By the end of the 20th century, the bridge had significantly deformed, and in the early 2000s, restoration work was carried out to recreate its original appearance.
