The hilltop church with disappeared walls

Perched high on a hill to the northwest, the ruins of Sant Valentí de Mur stand as a whisper from the past. The altar no longer holds sermons, only the whispers of the winds, carried from the mountains. The sanctuary's stone walls are crumbling away, slowly revealing the secrets of the lonely fortress that once stood tall as a beacon. A single-nave Romanesque church, with a semi-circular apse, this stone chapel in Castell de Mur, Spain was part of the collegiate of Santa Maria de Mur. Current day visitors will find only some rows remaining of Sant Valentí de Mur, but the ruins' proximity to Mur castle invites exploration.
