Nestled just two kilometres from the bustling town of Calafell lies Montpaó - a local cultural treasure. Perched atop a hill, presiding elegantly at 142 metres above sea level, Montpaó is home to approximately 16 structures, steeped in history that remains shrouded in mystery. Over a thousand years have passed since its inception, and yet its origins continue to baffle scholars and locals alike. From the 1950s, six of these structures were abandoned and now stand, desolate and crumbling. The urban layout is a maze of a main street and an annex, adorned with some houses boasting intricate stone arches. Remnants of these archways can even be found in the interiors of some of the houses.
