The enigma surrounding Indija Hillfort, also known as Pilė or Pilis, has captivated many for centuries. Situated near Indija village on the right bank of the Akmena River and in Pagramančio Regional Park, this ancient hillfort rises high, about 8-10 meters tall, with two distinct parts separated by a deep ditch. The walls around this historical site are approximately 20 meters thick at their base, tapering off towards the top. Despite its imposing appearance, evidence suggests that it was once accessible from three sides, until the 14th century.
