12th-century ruins: Santa Magdalena del Sitjar

Situated in Gavà, Catalonia, the ruins of the 12th-century church of Santa Magdalena del Sitjar stand as a testament to history. The church's design was a single, non-absidiolar, single-nave structure. What remains are the western wall until the entrance of the door and the foundations of the northern wall. The imposts with half-arcades at the start of the vault also survive. Santa Magdalena del Sitjar is documented in the year 1100 and from the 14th century onwards. Unfortunately, the chapel was already in ruins a century ago.
