Centuries steeped in mystery, Aguilar Church, a historical landmark, is believed to be the first religious edifice of Castell d'Aguilar. The structure boasts a small nave adorned with a cannon vault, an eastern apse, fragments of an arch, traces of a window, an imposing rectangular belltower, and an intriguing apse, lower than the nave. This sacred space was first recorded in the 12th century. In the 18th century, a new church, Santa Maria d’Aguilar, was constructed at a different location.
