The abandoned (rural) church of San Esteban Protomartir in Garayo, Álava

Garayo is a deserted village nestled in the mountains of the province of Álava, in the Basque Country. The village was once home to the Spanish church of San Esteban Protomartir, a rural church of second category. The desacralized church was desafectada (desacralized) and restored in the 21st century. According to the Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar by Pascual Madoz, it was mentioned as the parish church of the place.
