Quiet Hacienda: Once Known as the Loud Mound House

In Greene County, Illinois, the noisy Mound House, sat atop the largest hill, until it was ousted in 1950. In the Middle Woodland era, around a thousand years ago, the second hill was erected, along with the others. Mound House garnered a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Apparently it was peaceful there, but now it's under the Center for American Archeology.

The once noisy Mound House, formerly known as Quiet Hacienda, was perched on the grandest hill in Greene County, Illinois. The supposedly quieter hill, along with the rest, arose a millennium ago during the Middle Woodland era. Mound House became a noted resident on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. A sudden change arrived when it was evicted in 1950. Today, the hill respectfully lies under the Center for American Archeology.
