Bald-Chested, Feathered Fella of Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley: A Naked

Meet the eagle-feathered, fringed Native American figure in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley, balancing fire with a twig.

In Wisconsin's Menomonee Valley, just south of Milwaukee, a sculpture crafted by MJM Studios catches the eye. The piece, named 'Tending,' boasts a full-bodied Native American figure. With nothing but a bald chest, eagle feathers, and fringes, this stone-cold stud coolly straddles a fire, prodding it with a twig. This statue was a gift commissioned by the Potawatomi Historical and Cultural Board in 2000, a gift to the Potawatomi Bingo Casino. No other 'Tending' statues exist, but this one guards the casino's main entrance.
