Abandoned Church Hidden in the Montsec de Rúbies, Spain

Sant Pere de Cabrera, a church in a remote location in the Montsec de Rúbies mountain range, is a late work, dating back to the end of the 12th century or the beginning of the 13th. Originally part of a larger monastery, it was vinculated to the priorat de Meià until the desamortització eclesiàstica. Today, it stands as a ruined church, featuring a single-nave structure, a semicircular apse, and an apuntated arc toral. The main entrance is on the south façade, and there is a single-esqueyed window in the apse with a rectangular lintel. Niche or fornicles are found on the walls of the nave. A rectangular chapel was added to the north of the nave, with an apuntated canon vault. The church is formed by carreuó de pedra calcària, a roughly hewn and in some sectors, unfinished stone work.
