Chuckling Colossuses of Milwaukee: A Fascinating Fusion of Nature's Quirks and

Hop aboard this whimsical journey and meet the Laughin' Larrys, a 23-foot towering titan frozen in a fit of laughter, crafted by the enigmatic German artisan Guido Brink. These grinning giants are a delightful oddity outside UWM's Lapham Hall, featuring three elongated arms sporting four jovial faces, all thanks to the Wisconsin Percent for Art program.

The Laughin' Larrys, an eccentric tribute to humanity, were masterminded by none other than the quirky German chap, Guido Brink. This charming fellow gave the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee a flavor all its own. Standing at a staggering 23 feet, this vibrant, joyful fellow sports three spindly arms, each twisting into four contagious grins on elastic limbs. The Wisconsin Percent for Art program ensured the sculpture spun a twirling propeller in its midst, churning out laughter from the moment it graced the chilly Milwaukee air on an October day in 1992. As if by magic, or perhaps a stroke of artistic brilliance, Guido himself handcrafted the sculpture right on the south side of Lapham Hall. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee took ownership of the sculpture, makin' the Laughin' Larrys a permanent part of the fabric of the school.
