Ruins of Sant Iscle i Santa Victòria de Béixec

Sant Iscle i Santa Victòria de Béixec is a Romanesque church in the village of Béixec, at the municipality of Montellà i Martinet (Baixa Cerdanya) protected as a Cultural Interest Local. The church was demolished between 1936 and 1939. Today, the ruins of the church are located at the top of the village. Only the northern wall remains of the building, which gives a glimpse of its historic past. The northern wall of the liturgical space has an arch hollowed out in the same wall with rough stones that presumably contained an altar. The parish is first mentioned in the Act of the Consecration of the Seu d’Urgell along with Montellà. Although much of the structure has been lost, local residents have cleaned up the ruins and dignified the building and the surroundings.
