Lakhtinsky Ave., 115, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 197229
A wooden building in the Art Nouveau style was constructed in 1914 based on the design of architect Sergey Osipovich Ovsyannikov for the widow of the hereditary honorary citizen, customs expediter Karl-Friedrich-Lorenz (Karl Fyodorovich) Tasheit.
Adelina-Charlotta-Dorothea (Adele Fyodorovna) was the mother-in-law of Voldemar Shaub, née Keshner. Her eldest daughter, Eugenia-Maria-Valeska, married Voldemar (Vladimir Vasilyevich) Shaub, a legal representative of the Russo-Asian Bank, in 1900. He was the son of Vasily Ivanovich and brother of Vasily Vasilyevich, both architects named Shaub. The couple lived in the neighboring dacha (photo of their dacha at the end of the post).
"V. Shaub’s wife loved lawn tennis. In 1891, Vladimir Shaub founded the first tennis club in Russia, 'Clover Leaf,' which marked the beginning of tennis history in Russia, and he was its chairman for many years. There is information that club meetings were held in the dacha’s premises, and tennis courts were located just a few steps away."
Until the Great Patriotic War, the dacha was owned by descendants of this family, and afterward, the building was under the control of the Lakhta state farm "Oborona" and was inhabited as a communal apartment by workers of this state farm. By the end of the 20th century, the old dacha had deteriorated to a hazardous condition, and in 1997 it was included in the list of houses subject to resettlement due to the risk of collapse of structural elements. After the last residents moved out, the building stood empty.

Already in October 2016, part of the building (the north facade) collapsed. Soon after, the long-leaning remarkable weather vane fell, and by 2020 it had completely disappeared. Once a majestic structure, it is now abandoned and looks as if it is living its last days before demolition.
