Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium: Morocco's high-tech sports hub

Located in the capital, this massive complex features palm-leaf inspired facades and is prepared to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Located 7 kilometres from the center of Rabat, the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium is a state-of-the-art football venue with a seating capacity of 69,500. Opened on 5 September 2025, it serves as the home stadium for the Morocco national football team. The construction of the new stadium began in 2023 after the demolition of the previous stadium on the same site. The new design features a facade inspired by palm leaves and includes a roof covering the seating over three stands.

The venue is part of a larger sports complex that includes the Rabat Olympic Stadium, an athletics track and field stadium with a capacity of 21,000, an indoor Salle Moulay Abdellah arena, an Olympic swimming pool, and football training pitches. It is equipped with high-definition LED screens, an advanced acoustic system, solar energy sources, and a hybrid natural turf pitch built to FIFA specifications. The complex also provides hospitality lounges, VVIP and VIP boxes, and a car park for 5,200 cars.

As part of a nationwide sports infrastructure upgrade with a budget of MAD 9.5bn, the stadium is linked to the city by a new tramway connection. This project involves laying over 40 km of new tracks between 2028 and 2030. The stadium is set to host a semi-final of the 2030 FIFA World Cup and is one of the largest stadiums in Morocco.
