At one time, prominent figures of the capital rented apartments in this beautiful building. These included K.Ya. Averin, Major General; A.A. Bashmakov, chief editor of the newspaper "Government Herald"; and architects V.L. Gofman and A.S. Pronin.

From 1905 to 1911, the "Omnium-Kino" cinematographic film factory operated in the house. It produced the most prominent and well-known documentary films of that time.

The true decoration of the building, constructed in the neoclassical style, are the neat low balconies, architectural projections on the walls, and window frames. It is impossible to pass by the old income house without looking at it.
