Italian concentration camps

The Italian concentration camps, a dark chapter of history, were subjected to historical amnesia, leading to revisionism. Over 40,000 people were killed and 80,000 locked in concentration camps in Cyrenaica alone.

The Italian concentration camps include camps from the Italian colonial wars in Africa as well as camps for the civilian population from areas occupied by Italy during World War II. The memory of both camps were subjected to 'historical amnesia'.

In Cyrenaica between 1929 and 1933, war crimes were conducted by the Italian Army, resulting in the deaths of thousands and the internment of tens of thousands of people. The exact number of casualties is unclear, but it is estimated that over 40,000 people were killed and 80,000 were locked up in concentration camps.
