Zaha Hadid’s radical theater project found a home in Guangzhou after being deemed too futuristic for Wales. The opera house located on the banks of the Pearl River is shaped to resemble two pebbles, hence the nickname “double pebble”. It features an interior with complex, flowing spaces and no straight lines. In the main hall, a starry sky panorama greets the audience, with wave-like ceilings studded with millions of LEDs.
