Folies Siffait, located in the town of Le Cellier, are a series of terraces organized in the form of imitation ruins. These towers and stairs, once colorfully layered, form an intricate labyrinth which leads nowhere. Niches, balustrades, colored plaster, staircases, walls, towers, trompe l’oeil, faux ruins, and suspended gardens are layered, using local schist as a base material. The site offers stunning views of the Loire River.
