The McClurg Building is a historic skyscraper in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1899 and designed by Chicago school architects Holabird & Roche, the building is one of the smallest skyscrapers in Chicago. It stands nine stories tall and measures 80 feet by 150 feet at its base.
The building's Wabash Street facade features 9,000 square feet of windows bordered by terra cotta piers and spandrels. This amount of window space was required because there are no windows on the sides of the building. The building was named for the A.C. McClurg publishing company, which was its main occupant. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 17, 1970.
The building currently houses several different organizations. Roosevelt University's Dance Studios are on the third floor, while Chicago Youth Centers is headquartered on the sixth floor. UNITE HERE occupies the seventh and eighth floors, and IA Collaborative occupies the ninth floor and the tenth floor penthouse. The Exchequer Restaurant and Pub also occupies a portion of the first floor.
