Castillo de Sabinilla

Castillo de Sabinilla, also known as the fort, is a fortification situated on the litoral of the Spanish town of Manilva. Built in 1767 during the reign of Carlos III, this fortification overlooks the sea and is the home of the Muslim, Roman, and Celtic pasts. The surrounding area of Castillo de Sabinilla is a Roman archaeological site. This fort also serves as the home of the Museo Municipal de Arqueología de Manilva, whose collection comes from the archaeological site. In addition, Castillo de Sabinilla is protected by the Declaration genérica del Decreto de 22 de abril de 1949 and Ley 16/1985 sobre el Patrimonio Histórico Español, and it is a Bien de Interés Cultural. However, the most surprising discovery is the Celtic road that runs through it, dating back to the prehistoric period and considered one of Europe's oldest.
