The Aukštieji Šančiai hillfort, standing 30 meters high, is nestled among the woodlands of Šančiai, in the Kauno municipality territory, on the right bank of the Nemunas river. The hillfort, constructed on its upper terrace, boasts western and eastern parts that are 15 meters wide and 1.5 meters high. Entrances and stairways intertwine, providing a labyrinthine journey to its heart. Bricks were the chosen material for building this archaeological site, which was erected in the 2nd millennium. Remnants of this historical site are preserved in the Lithuania cultural heritage database.
