Ancient defence fortress on the edge of Västergötland: Kindahus - Located on a

Kindahus Castle, also known as Kinnahus or Kindaholm, is an archaeological site located on a promontory in Västergötland, Sweden.Built around 1250, it served as the only border fortress against Danish Halland. Mentioned in the Erikskrönikan (ca 1330), and the name Kindaholm appears in the Karlskrönikan (ca 1450), Danish troops under the command of marsken Claus Rønnow besieged Kindahus in 1452, and the garrison, made up of conscripted commoners, defended the castle for five days. Kindahus is in Östra Frölunda socken in Kinds härad and is about 20 kilometers north of the border with Halland.
