Income house of G.G. Zollikofer - owls of the fourth floor

12th Krasnoarmeyskaya St., 1, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 190005

Above the fourth floor, among the fir trees and pine cones, owls have nestled.

The income house of Georgy Georgievich Zollikofer is located in the historic part of Saint Petersburg (Admiralteysky District). The building features mid-19th century architecture by an unknown author, in the Art Nouveau style. The building was rebuilt by civil engineers Georgy Georgievich Zollikofer and Yevgeny Fedorovich Edel in 1912-1913. The structure has six floors, a large basement, and an attic. The facade has been repainted several times. Today, the building's color is pink.
A turret with an observation deck rises above the roof. Among other details, two small but quite prominent bay windows stand out; inter-floor and crowning cornices with dentils; the entrance group resembles a theater curtain—a perspective portal in the form of drapery with a lambrequin; the portal plastically echoes the corner windows of the top floor; also notable are half-columns, windows of various sizes, balconies of different shapes, alternating textures, and, of course, decorative bas-reliefs.
Above the fourth floor, among fir trees and cones, owls are perched.
