Head over to the rain-friendly city of Portland, OR, where SE Division Street is the epicenter of tantalizing tales. In 2014, the 2-year local artists Crystal Schenk and Shelby Davis unveiled This All Happened More or Less, a public art installation scattered across the road, hugging the ground between 11th and 36th Avenues. Inspired by the city's lively energy, they posited eight small bronze sculptures within large, locally sourced Pacific Northwest-quarried dolomite boulders. This All Happened More or Less marked the duo's debut foray into public art, made possible by the city's 2% for Art program, added to streetscape enhancements along SE Division. Each bronze figure sits adjacent to bioswales and nearby businesses, inviting passersby to discover all the sculptures and let the old imagination run wild. You see, the fun lies in filling in the blanks, right?
