Nestled at the heart of two beloved Disney Parks - Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland at Tokyo Disney Resort - stands the breathtaking Cinderella Castle. Completed in the warm embrace of July 1971, this captivating structure took approximately 18 months to craft. Originally designed to be tall enough to be seen from the Seven Seas Lagoon, it stands 189 feet tall when measured from the bridge, including the depth of the moat.
A testament to spellbinding beauty, Cinderella Castle draws inspiration from legendary palaces such as the Alcázar of Segovia, Schwerin Castle, Hohenzollern Castle, and the Týn Church in Prague. The castle was conceived as a primary "weenie" - a term used by Walt Disney and his Imagineers - to draw new entering guests through Main Street, U.S.A. towards the central hub. Its massive moat holds approximately 3.37 million gallons of water, with 27 towers that gleam in the sunlight.
The tower with the clock in front is number 10, the tallest is number 20, and number 23 is the other golden-roofed tower. Originally, a suite was planned for the Disney family and executives, but since Walt Disney died nearly five years before the park opened, it remained unfinished. It was eventually turned successively into a telephone call center, a dressing room, and is currently a hotel room.
